Millie Henn

     Millie Henn has been active in Mended Hearts since joining Centex Chapter 12 in Temple, Texas, in 2000 following by-pass surgery.  She has served her chapter as president, secretary, hospital visitor, and accredited visiting trainer.  She was The Mended Hearts’ Southwest Assistant Regional Director from 2008 to 2011, and is currently the Southwest Regional Director.  One of her most treasured Mended Hearts memories is having served as Master of Ceremonies for the 58th annual Mended Hearts convention in Minnesota.  In 2012 she served as the chair for the 60thMended Hearts’annual convention.

   Millie retired in June, 2011 after 23 years in public education working with middle school students as a teacher and counselor.  She stays active in her community.  Currently she an officer of The Friends of the Temple Public Library Board of Directors, and serves on the Bell County  American Heart Association Gala Committee.  She is an active member of The Texas Retired Teachers Association, education sororities Delta Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta Kappa, and a sustaining member of Bell County Junior League.  In 2009 she became a designated WomenHeart Champion, and enjoys speaking to community organizations about heart health.

   Millie and her husband, Stan, live in Temple, TX.  Their children, Kristin and husband Jeff and Marc and wife Alisha live nearby, which happily provides lots of time for  Millie and Stan to spend  with their four beautiful grandgirls, Charlotte, Margot, Kate and Claire.
